Workshops

The single most important element that is diminishing from society today is ‘connection’, connection with self, others and the natural environment.

We are more connected than ever before due to the advances of technology, though as humans we have never been so disconnected. Disconnected from ourselves, each other and our natural environment. This disconnections leads to dis-ease and creates underlying problems resulting in our decline of mental, emotional and physical health.

The wellness industry has been focusing on nutrition, exercise and mindfulness for decades yet we continue to have an increase in obesity, depression, suicide and loneliness.

In Australia, by the age of 65;

  • 82% of people will have a chronic illness
  • 50% of people will have suffered poor mental health
  • 50% of people will have suffered a relationship breakdown
  • 68% of people will suffer financial hardship
  • 27% of people will be dead

The ROI (return on investment) for well-being in the workplace is $2.30 for every $1.00 spent which is a great return if it works. Unfortunately, many programs are just applying band-aids which of course will eventually peel off and expose the underlying issues all over again.

Connection can have the most profound effect on making sure we solve the underlying issues and not just treat the symptoms.

The latest ‘RUOK’ findings show that ‘Australians spend an average of 46 hours of their weekly downtime looking at their TV screens and digital devices compared to an average of 6 hours engaging with family and friends’. (Source – ‘RUOK’)
